Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 295 to 492 sfm, feeds ranging from 0.009 to 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. These parameters enable heavy interrupted cutting and roughing operations with robust material removal rates. The 3/64″ nose radius balances edge strength and moderate feed capability for semi-finishing to medium machining. It is designed primarily for stainless steel within ISO groups M25 to M35. The negative rake chipbreaker and robust edge strength make it ideal for heavy interrupted cuts and roughing in stainless steel, providing excellent performance in demanding, rigid setups. This insert is not suited for fine finishing or profiling applications.
