Applications

Cutting speeds range from 361 to 755 sfm, feeds from 0.002 to 0.008 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.059 in. The maximum depth of cut is the hard upper limit for this insert’s use. This insert supports general to interrupted cutting operations. It is designed primarily for ISO P30-P35 steel and secondarily for M20-M30 stainless steel, K30 cast iron, and S15-S25 heat-resistant superalloys and titanium. Its positive rake geometry and 80° diamond shape make it suitable for finishing and semi-finishing with moderate interrupted cuts, but it is not recommended for heavy interrupted cuts or roughing.
