Applications

The YG1 UGMG20024 solid carbide square end mill features a 3/8″ diameter and 1″ length of cut, offering a balanced combination of rigidity and reach suitable for precision milling in medium-depth slots and pockets. Its 6-flute design and 45° helix angle, combined with Y-Coating, enhance chip evacuation and surface finish while maintaining stability under high-feed conditions. This combination reduces vibration and extends tool life during machining of steels and harder materials. The end mill performs well when machining Steel (ISO P), Stainless Steel (ISO M), Hard Materials (ISO H), and HRSA (ISO S), leveraging its coating and geometry for efficient cutting and heat resistance. Since it lacks a corner radius, chipping prevention depends on the coating and flute design, making it more suitable for continuous cuts rather than interrupted ones. Avoid use on Non-Ferrous (ISO N) materials due to coating unsuitability, which leads to rapid wear. Its design is not intended for applications requiring corner radius benefits or machining softer non-ferrous alloys.
