Applications

Ideal for finishing operations on steel and similar alloys, the YG1 86584TF end mill features a 3/8″ diameter and 1″ length of cut. This solid carbide tool boasts five flutes with a 45° helix angle, enhanced by YG TiAlN Futura coating to improve chip evacuation and surface finish. Its rigid construction helps maintain tight tolerances during detailed machining. The tools high flute count and variable pitch design align well with low carbon steel finishing, especially when using light radial stock. While the lack of a corner radius means edge chipping prevention depends on the coating and flute geometry, this end mill is not recommended for interrupted cuts or applications requiring reinforced corners. Avoid using it on Non-Ferrous (ISO N) materials, as the TiAlN Futura coating will degrade rapidly under such conditions.
