The YG1 33560TC finishing end mill, sized at 9/64″ diameter with a 5/16″ cut length and 4 flutes, features a compact length that enhances rigidity and accuracy for detailed milling tasks. Its 30° helix angle paired with a 4-flute design balances chip evacuation and smooth cutting, reducing vibration and improving surface finish when machining free-machining steel and similar materials. Equipped with a TiCN coating, this tool delivers wear resistance and effective heat management, enabling higher speeds and feeds suitable for steel and cast iron applications. The geometry is optimized for general milling of easy-machining steel, adhering to recommended setups for free-machining steel. The tool’s lack of a corner radius means edge chipping prevention depends on controlled feeds and speeds. Avoid usage on HRSA (ISO S) materials due to coating unsuitability. This end mill is also less appropriate for heavy interrupted cuts or hardened materials requiring specialized coatings and geometries.
