Offering a 3/8″ diameter and 3/4″ length of cut, the YG1 13584 bright solid carbide finishing end mill combines a stub length to diameter ratio of 2.0 with four flutes and a 30° helix angle for rigid and precise cutting. This size provides excellent control and minimizes deflection, making it ideal for detailed profiling and finishing in non-ferrous materials such as brass and bronze. The bright coating and four-flute design create a polished cutting edge that reduces friction and prevents material melting or burr formation, which supports smooth chip evacuation and reduces grabbing when machining free-machining brass or acrylic plastics. A coated end mill is usually the better option for hard steels. The lack of a corner radius necessitates careful feed rate selection and material compatibility to prevent edge chipping, consistent with its recommended non-ferrous and cast iron applications.
