Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.002 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.012 in. It is designed for general cutting and universal grade applications within these parameters. The positive rake and 1/64″ nose radius favor finishing and semi-finishing operations with moderate feeds and light depths of cut. It is suitable primarily for ISO groups P30-P40 (steel) and secondarily for M20-M30 (stainless steel), K20-K25 (cast iron), and S15-S25 (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium). The insert is not recommended for heavy interrupted cuts or roughing but excels in continuous cutting and light interrupted cuts due to its positive rake geometry and moderate edge strength.
