Applications

Designed for precision finishing with moderate reach, the YG1 86593TE solid carbide end mill features a 1/2″ diameter and 1-1/4″ length of cut. Its 5-flute design and 45° helix angle, combined with the TiAlN Extreme coating, deliver excellent surface finish and wear resistance in steel and similar alloys. The high flute count and variable pitch geometry reduce chatter and enhance finish quality during light radial stock removal in low carbon steel applications such as 1018/A36. TiAlN Extreme coating also offers thermal stability and supports elevated cutting speeds to extend tool life. This tool is not suitable for non-ferrous materials due to coating unsuitability and lacks a corner radius, which makes edge chipping a risk in interrupted cuts.
