Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 115 to 656 sfm, feeds ranging from 0.004 to 0.012 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.118 in. These parameters suit continuous to general cutting operations with a maximum depth of cut of 0.118 in. It is designed primarily for ISO material groups S05-S15 (heat-resistant superalloys and titanium) and secondarily for M10-M20 (stainless steel) and H05-H10 (hardened steel). The positive rake geometry and 80° diamond shape make it ideal for finishing and semi-finishing applications, but it is not recommended for heavy interrupted cuts.
