Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.002 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.012 in. Its very fine 0.002″ nose radius is ideal for light finishing cuts with low cutting forces. The positive rake chipbreaker and 55° diamond shape provide excellent profiling clearance but limit edge strength. It is suited primarily for ISO P30-P40 steel and secondarily for M20-M30 stainless steel, K20-K25 cast iron, and S15-S25 HRSA/titanium. The insert is designed for general continuous cutting and finishing applications but is not recommended for interrupted cuts due to its positive rake and fine nose radius.
