With a diameter of 0.140625″ and a 0.5″ length of cut, the YG1 07560TF 9/64″ Size, 1/2″ LOC, 4 Flute, YG TiAlN Futura Solid Carbide Finishing End Mill provides a stable and accurate solution for finishing tasks requiring moderate reach. Its 4-flute layout, combined with a 30° helix angle and TiAlN Futura coating, ensures effective chip evacuation and enhanced wear resistance, particularly when working with abrasive materials such as cast iron.
Ideal for finishing cast iron, this tool benefits from its geometry and coating, which emphasize abrasion resistance and edge retention. The 4-flute design promotes smooth surface finishes, while the TiAlN Futura coating counters the short-chipping tendencies of cast iron. Although it fits within general milling guidelines for free-machining steel, its primary application is in cast iron.
This end mill should not be used on non-ferrous materials due to the unsuitability of the TiAlN Futura coating, which will deteriorate quickly. The lack of a corner radius means users must take care to avoid chipping in interrupted cuts, especially with tougher materials. It is unsuitable for plastics or non-ferrous metals given the coating limitations.
