Applications

This CNMG644-GR NC3120 insert supports cutting speeds from 525 to 984 sfm, feeds between 0.012 and 0.031 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.394 in. These parameters enable robust medium to heavy cutting conditions suitable for general turning operations. The insert is optimized for ISO P20-P25 steel materials, delivering reliable performance in roughing and interrupted cuts. Its negative rake chipbreaker and 80° diamond shape provide excellent edge strength and durability. This insert is ideal for medium to rough turning and facing on steel, including production OD turning and facing of forgings and castings with scale. It is not recommended for precision finishing, profiling, or thin-wall workpieces sensitive to cutting forces.
