Applications

This CNMG insert supports cutting speeds from 525 to 984 sfm, feeds between 0.010 and 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.315 in. It is designed for general cutting with a focus on medium to rough turning and facing operations. The insert excels in heavy-duty applications requiring robust edge strength and high material removal rates. It is optimized for ISO P20-P25 steel materials, making it ideal for machining alloy steels and cast iron under continuous and interrupted cutting conditions. Its negative rake geometry and 80° diamond shape provide excellent performance in shoulder turning and production OD turning but are not suited for precision finishing or profiling tasks.
