The YG1 84584TF solid carbide finishing end mill, sized at 3/8″ diameter with a 7/8″ length of cut, delivers balanced rigidity and reach for precision work in steel and related alloys. Its 6-flute design, coupled with a 40° helix angle and TiAlN Futura coating, promotes excellent surface finish and effective chip evacuation, minimizing heat buildup during light radial stock removal. This setup aligns with recommended finishing parameters for low carbon steels like 1018 and A36. Center cutting and featuring a straight shank, this tool supports plunge cuts and stable machining. Without a corner radius, its sharp cutting edges are ideal for fine finishes but must be handled carefully to avoid chipping in interrupted cuts. The TiAlN Futura coating excels in ferrous materials by providing high-temperature resistance and extended tool life. This end mill should not be used on non-ferrous materials due to coating unsuitability, nor is it intended for heavy roughing or machining aluminum or copper alloys.
