Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 427 to 820 sfm, feeds between 0.001 and 0.005 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.079 in. It is designed for general to interrupted cutting with medium-low speed roughing. The small 0.008″ nose radius is ideal for finishing to light semi-finishing cuts. It is suitable primarily for ISO P25-P35 steels and secondarily for M25-M35 stainless steels. The positive rake geometry and 80° diamond shape provide low cutting forces, making it well-suited for thin-wall workpieces and low-rigidity setups, but it is not recommended for heavy interrupted cuts or roughing with hard scale.
