Applications

2 Flute
  • Provides the largest amount of flute space allowing for more a greater chip load.
  • Primarily used in slotting and pocketing of non-ferrous materials where chip removal is an issue.
3 Flute
  • Same flute space as a 2 flute but offers a larger cross sectional area thereby providing for greater strength and the ability to pocket and slot in both non-ferrous & ferrous materials.
4 Flute
  • Additional flutes allow for faster feeds but chip removal may be a problem due to the reduced flute space.
  • Also produces a finer finish than 2 or 3 flute tools.
  • Ideal for peripheral & finish milling.
