Applications

The YG1 7598 solid carbide finishing end mill features a 3/4″ diameter and a 1-1/2″ length of cut, creating a rigid tool with a 2.0x length-to-diameter ratio ideal for precise finishing in non-ferrous materials. This size combination offers an optimal balance of reach and stiffness to minimize deflection during profiling and finishing operations.
Its bright coating, combined with a 30° helix angle and four-flute geometry, forms a sharp cutting edge that reduces friction and material grabbing, especially effective in free-machining brass and bronze. The design promotes smooth chip evacuation and enhances surface finish, consistent with recommended configurations for non-ferrous metals and plastics.
Hard steels typically machine better with a coated end mill. It is not intended for heavy roughing or interrupted cuts on hard materials. The absence of a corner radius means preventing edge chipping depends on appropriate feed rates and material selection.
