Applications

This CNMG turning insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds between 0.009 and 0.024 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.197 in. It is designed for medium to rough turning and facing operations with high material removal rates. The insert excels in general cutting applications, including interrupted cuts, thanks to its negative rake chipbreaker and robust edge strength. It is suitable for ISO material groups P30-P40 (steel) as the primary application and M20-M30 (stainless steel) as secondary. It also performs well on K20-K25 (cast iron) and S15-S25 (HRSA/titanium). This insert is ideal for production OD turning, facing of forgings and castings, and boring in rigid setups but is not recommended for precision finishing or profiling.
