Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds and feeds suitable for medium to rough turning, with depth of cut up to 5.0 mm and feed rates ranging from 0.20 to 0.45 mm/rev. Its 1/16″ nose radius balances edge strength and surface finish for semi-rough passes. It is designed primarily for ISO groups P (steel and alloy steel) and K (cast iron), excelling in roughing and interrupted cuts. The negative rake and 80° diamond shape provide excellent edge strength and rigidity, making it ideal for production OD turning, facing of forgings and castings, and boring in rigid setups. Not recommended for finishing or profiling operations.
