Applications

This insert supports cutting speeds from 98 to 574 sfm, feeds from 0.001 to 0.002 in/rev, and depths of cut up to 0.012 in. The depth of cut upper limit is 0.012 in, setting the maximum for this insert’s application range. It is designed for general cutting and universal grade use. It is suitable primarily for ISO groups P30-P40 (steel) and secondarily for M20-M30 (stainless steel), K20-K25 (cast iron), and S15-S25 (HRSA/titanium). The positive rake geometry and small 0.008″ nose radius make it ideal for finishing and light semi-finishing operations but not for heavy interrupted cuts or roughing.
